In this video, Fool contributor Tyler Crowe and energy and materials analyst Joel South take a question from a Fool reader, who asks: "Regarding the new sanctions hitting Russian companies, I am thinking a lot about BP. Do you think that a possible fall in BP's share price could be a good time to invest?"

BP  has a 19.75% state in Rosneft, making it the largest foreign investor in Russian oil and gas. But U.S. persons cannot do direct business with sanctioned persons or entities -- and with Rosneft CEO Igor Sechin on the sanctions list and BP CEO Bob Dudley a U.S. citizen, this could make for an interesting story.

Is BP a good value play because of this, or perhaps because of some other reasons? Watch the video to find out.

Oil production from places all over the world is changing the dynamics of the oil market. Much of that movement has been thanks to major strides in oil and gas drilling technology, and one behind-the-scenes energy giant is at the epicenter of it. Warren Buffett is so confident in this company's can't-live-without-it business model, he just loaded up on 8.8 million shares. An exclusive, brand-new Motley Fool report reveals the company we're calling OPEC's Worst Nightmare. Just click here to uncover the name of this industry-leading stock.
